About Jake Goertzen

The artist owns two studios in Horndean, MB. One studio, is for large metal sculptures and the other studio is for non-metal media. The latter is part of a former three-classroom school in Horndean which also functions as a gallery for his collection of sculptures when they are not on exhibit elsewhere.

Goertzen's early studies were in human figurative realism at private art schools in Los Angeles, California in the late 1980s. These and subsequent subjects show highly evocative sculptures and paintings of nude and draped figurative studies, parents, family groups and children. Most of the human figures were completed between 1988 and 2000.
